Mistra Digital Forest field trip and conference in Umeå, 20–21 May 2025

This spring, the programme had the privilege of organising a much appreciated conference in Umeå. The conference gave us the opportunity to bring together researchers and innovators from the forestry sector, in order to discuss how digital solutions might shape the future of forestry. One of the major highlights was the field trip to the Svartberget Research Station in Vindeln, a hub for forestry field research in northern Sweden, where several advanced digital tools were demonstrated actually in the forest. Participants were able to see how new technology can provide insights, and create opportunities for sustainable development in forestry.
We have compiled material from the field trip to Vindeln on 20 May, as well as the conference at SLU on 21 May 2025.
